Warranty & Return Policy

Mike's Computer Shop (MCS) is a reseller of computers and their related components, peripherals and accessories. Our purchasing and merchandising team, has spent considerable time and energy determining product mix and assessing manufacturer products and offerings. While MCS does generally stand behind what is sold, we are not the manufacturer of these products and cannot make an ultimate or blanket guarantee that a given product or products will be suitable for a customer's needs, or be of an anticipated or perceived "quality". Subject to the terms and conditions contained below, MCS will undertake all reasonable steps to ensure that customers are treated fairly and within industry standards.


All online purchases returned must be pre-authorized via email (support@mikescomputershop.com) before being sent back to MCS. The customer is responsible for paying the costs of return shipping, plus any applicable insurance deemed necessary. Online purchase returns that are improperly shipped resulting in damage may be refused or subject to additional restocking and handling fees. Shipping products in the same package that they arrived in is always preferred. Before returning any item to MCS, the customer must acquire a valid RMA number from the MCS support team.

In the event that an item is defective or DOA (dead on arrival), MCS will provide the customer with a prepaid waybill to return the item to on of our locations. If the returned item is found not to be defective and in reasonable working order, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from the final refund due to the customer. Once the returned defective or DOA item has been confirmed as defective or DOA, a replacement unit will be shipped to the customer, or if no replacement is available, the order will be refunded.,

The following items are non-returnable under any conditions once opened, ONLY carry a manufacturer's warranty*, and cannot be returned to MCS:

  • Processors/CPU's
  • Main Boards
  • Printers, Ink, Toner, and Office Supplies
  • Projectors
  • Media (USB Drives, CD's, DVD's)
  • Headphones / Headsets (due to hygiene)
  • Software

MCS reserves the right to charge a 15% restocking fee on any returned item that is open or has missing or damaged packaging.**
MCS consider the following to be missing or damaged packaging
  • Broken or removed seals
  • Broken or opened internal packaging and bags
  • Rips or tears to the exterior or interior packaging
  • Writing on the exterior or interior packaging
  • Any sign of tampering to the packaging
If a returned item is defective or DOA, the restocking fee will be waived (please see above).
Unless otherwise stated, all warranties are direct to Manufacturers' Warranty only. Any signs of physical damage to products will void all MCS warranties and return policies.

General warranty
All items purchased via MCS are subject to a 30 day warranty. The following items are excluded from said policy:
  • Software - As per Manufacturers' Warranty, (MCS does not warranty software),
  • Tablets / Cameras - 30-day in-store warranty, remaining warranty with the manufacturer,
  • Other products - Manufacturer warranty only, unless otherwise stated,
  • Warranty does not cover tampering or modification of any cables or hardware inside a computer. Unless specific permission is obtained from the MCS team, opening the system case while in warranty period, will void all warranties.
  • Monitors - As per Manufacturers' Warranty - MCS does not directly warranty monitors except as defined in the following
  • GENERAL - All monitors carry a 30-Day DOA warranty, remaining warranty to be handled by manufacturer.
  • DEAD PIXEL - Unless a monitor has in excess of 5 pixels, MCS will not warranty said monitor for dead pixels. The "Dead Pixel" warranty is always at the discretion of the manufacturer.
  • MCS is an authorized repair center for many manufacturers; please ask your sales representative or the MCS support team if we are authorized to execute your warranty.(1)

Extended warranty protection is available on new desktop computers up to 3 years. Many brands of laptops also come with extended services plan options. Please ask a sales representative or the MCS Support team for details.

MCS reserves the right(unless otherwise selected) to ship online orders with our choice of courier. If the customer wishes their order to be shipped with a specific courier, additional charges may apply. Once a product has been released to the courier, it is subject to the courier's shipping policies, and is generally outside of the control or influence of MCS: (2) (3) (4). MCS is not responsible for delays within the courier system. Where possible, MCS will endeavor to provide updates in the case of such unexpected delays. Delays outside of our control do not grant the customer grounds for refund or cancellation of an order. Orders containing more than 1 item may be shipped in multiple deliveries at the discretion of our order fulfillment team, and may be shipped with different couriers in multiple packages. Additional shipping charges apply for orders being delivered to a rural route address, or if they contain oversized items or contain an item over 50lbs. If additional shipping charges are required, MCS will contact the customer with a shipping quote before the order is shipped, and will hold the order until the additional charges are paid. A $50 fee may be applied for any failed deliveries resulting from refusal of undamaged package(s), incorrect addresses, or multiple delivery attempts being unsuccessful and returned to our warehouse.,

Shipping Damage must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the shipment to be considered. If there is noticeable shipping damage on the outside of the box, please reject the shipment with the courier and do not accept the package.


Orders placed for in-store pickup are subject to each retail location's normal ordering time frame and are NOT included in our same-day shipment offer. Orders to a retail location are generally processed within 2-3 business days - though this is not guaranteed. A deposit may be required before parts will be ordered into a retail location. The customer will be contacted via email if a deposit is required for an order. Parts will be held or two weeks from the date of arrival in store. Failure to pickup ordered parts will result in the part(s) being returned back to the warehouse and all future pickup orders made by the customer will be rejected. Credit cards will not be charged at the time of ordering and is only taken as a form of identity verification and securitization for product. Payment must be presented upon pick up from the chosen MCS location, and is subject to the payment acceptance polices of the given retail location.

  • MCS cannot be responsible for software or data loss due to any hardware malfunctions or failures. MCS strongly recommends the use of a backup system.
  • MCS cannot be responsible for software or hardware corruption or loss due to a computer virus or malicious software. MCS strongly recommends the use of antivirus and anti malware/spyware software.
  • MCS cannot be responsible for software or hardware corruption or failure due to electrical blackouts / brownouts or power failures. MCS strongly recommends the use of a surge bar or a UPS System.

In the event that an item is listed on any MCS controlled website at an incorrect price, or with incorrect information, regardless of the reason, MCS reserves the right to refuse or cancel any online purchase for erroneously listed items. If payment has already been processed, MCS will immediately issue a refund of all charges processed.

All orders are subject to verification and approval by (MCS) and may be refused or limited for any reason, including but not limited to: product availability, errors in pricing, errors in product descriptions, or the inability to properly verify a payment. A binding agreement or commitment to provide products or services is not created until a payment received is reviewed and approved by MCS based on acceptability of the associated data. In the event that MCS is not able to verify payment data, the customer's offer of payment is deemed rejected and any form of binding relationship is nullified


Unless otherwise noted, all quotes are valid for 48 hours form the time of creation. Due to the unpredictable fluctuation in market prices on computer products, MCS does not have a price protection guarantee. This enables MCS to have some of the lowest prices in the market.
